The electric carmaker Tesla has just revealed that it’s planning to expand its range in the near future with a smaller version of the Model X SUV and a pick-up truck.
Tesla is really stepping up its game this year. Not only has it launched one of the most popular vehicles of the year, the Model 3, but it has also revealed its plans for the future.
Since electric cars are now more popular than ever before, it’s no surprise Tesla is trying to take advantage of the trend by filling the gaps in the market.
Although, we’ve seen many vehicles with alternative powertrains throughout the years, it wasn’t until Tesla appeared on the market that they truly gained momentum.
The brand’s current line-up is very interesting as it is, so it’s great to see that Tesla isn’t backing off; instead, it is growing stronger as time progresses.
According to the brand, we can expect at least two new models in the near future, although with the way things are going for the brand at the moment, we could be seeing a lot more than that.
First, Tesla wants to introduce a smaller version of the Model X SUV, to appeal to even more potential car buyers. By launching a smaller SUV, Tesla could potentially corner the market, which is currently in very high demand.
On top of that, the brand has teased a possible pick-up truck, also scheduled to launch in the next couple of years. Pick-up truck are slowly getting popular again, so it’s understandable why the brand is interested in taking this route.
Electric powertrains have been around for a very long time, almost as long as modern vehicles themselves, but they still remain largely unexplored due to the fact that they weren’t always popular with buyers.
By expanding its range and filling the gaps in the market, Tesla is only going to grow strong. Although, much hasn’t been revealed about the upcoming models yet, according to the brand we can expect them in the near future.
The time has never been better to invest in an electric car.
